Extraterrestrial Exploration and Mining (EEM) is the shortened and commonly used name to describe the industry started by EarthGov’s desperate initiative to get answers on how to survive from space. Many different corporations readied themselves for space exploration, and many participated in the final struggle to save the dying planet. A great number of these companies have since dropped out of the industry, due to CST’s massive success, though a few remain.
Most EEM done by non-CST personnel or craft is done by freelancers or contractors, today, and they more often than naught report to and deliver their findings to CST to receive their pay. As a result, the majority of resources and discoveries end up with CST, a fact is widely accepted these days, but when EEM was a newer industry the veterans criticized their corporate approach to human survival.
